June 23, 2016 | Houston Harbaugh, P.C. announced that Charles D. Scholz has joined the firm as a senior associate in its Business Law Group, and that Adam M. Shestak was promoted to senior associate in the firm’s Employment and Labor Law practice.
Scholz’s practice will focus on providing clients with general corporate and business counseling, in addition to helping with business planning, mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing, and corporate finance. Before joining the firm, he had served as in-house counsel for closely-held businesses, handling the full range of commercial matters.
Prior to that, and while attending law school, he was a tax accountant, assisting individuals and small businesses with tax preparation and planning.
He received his law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law where he graduated Cum Laude, earning the CALI Award for Academic Excellence, in addition to serving on the staff of the Duquesne Law Review. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University. He received his bachelor of science degree from St. Vincent College.
Shestak represents clients in both advisory and litigation capacities. He counsels clients on a range of employment issues. In the litigation arena, he has successfully represented clients before federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies including the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
Prior to joining Houston Harbaugh, Shestak served clients in private practice, and before that as part of the North Carolina Department of Justice as an Assistant Attorney General, serving as the in-house attorney for a large state hospital.
He received his law degree from the Duke University School of Law. He received his bachelor of science degree from Carnegie Mellon University
