November 3, 2014 | The University of Pittsburgh appointed Houston Harbaugh attorney Bradley J. Franc to the university’s Board of Trustees. Because the university is part of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education, all new candidates must be nominated by the governor of Pennsylvania. Mr. Franc was nominated by Governor Tom Corbett, and the Pennsylvania State Senate confirmed the appointment on October 14, 2014.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. Franc concentrates his legal practice in the areas of business planning, commercial transactions, federal and state tax issues, and estate and succession planning. Prior to joining Houston Harbaugh, he served as a certified public accountant for the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young L.L.P.
In addition to the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Franc is also a member of the Board of Trustees of LaRoche College and UPMC Passavant Foundation. He is also a board member of various community and industry organizations including World Presidents Organization (Pittsburgh Chapter) and Catalyst Connection.
He was named by PA Super Lawyers in 2010 and 2014 as one of the top attorneys in PA. In 2010 through 2013, Mr. Franc was named a Five Star Wealth Manager by Pittsburgh Magazine. In 2007, he was selected by Worth Magazine as one of the Top 100 attorneys across the nation.
